Celebrities Increase Popularity of Gastric Bypass Surgery

Gastric bypass surgery has become more popular than ever thanks to a number of celebrities who have gone public with their stories. Sharon Osbourne, Al Roker, Carnie Wilson, Randy Jackson, Roseanne Barr and Diego Maradona have all undergone weight loss surgery under the public eye.

These celebrities make gastric bypass surgery seem easy, but the truth is that it is a serious and complicated surgery and not something to undertake lightly. It should only be used as a last resort when serious dieting and exercise do not work. In our want-it-now society, it may seem like a good quick fix, but the longterm effects must be considered.

In the slick media world, celebrities go on talk shows and talk about their surgeries as another anecdote, glossing over the realities of the surgery. Much like plastic surgery reality shows bypass the recovery period and complications and go straight to the "reveal" moment, celebrities talking about their gastric bypass surgeries do not often address potential complications.

For some people, gastric bypass surgery may be the only answer. It is a life-saving procedure for them. Unfortunately, for others who could lose the weight through diet and exercise if they tried, it has become a trendy option. Very little is reported in the media about the risks of weight loss surgery, such as gallstones, infection, and eventually malnutrition.

Before jumping on the latest trend, it's important to do your research. Just because celebrities make it look easy doesn't mean it is. Our bodies were made the way they are for a reason - we should only "bypass" what Nature gave us if it is our only option.

Game On!

Lets face it the older you are the harder the world of online games is to follow. (I know, because Im just past my 20s and didnt have a clue until I entered the dark underbelly of gaming and came out the other side.)

I didnt dip my toe in the water until my 17-year-old brother challenged me to a game of Madness Combat 4: Apotheosis at UGOPlayer.com. Within minutes, he had beaten me at every turn and left me with nothing. It was a sad state of affairs believe me.

But being the can-do girl that I am, I vowed revenge! So I took the bull by the horns and started hitting the site every day to check out my brothers favorites (which he graciously supplied me links to), then practiced on those games and found a few others I liked, too. (Can you say black vs. Gray? Stick men fighting is really pretty hysterical.)

Now, I started my gaming adventure with some pretty hardcore matchups (against my brother the expert). But if you want to start getting into the game, there are some better ways to do it.

Head to a site like UGOPlayer.com and check out the games meant for younger kids this will give you a sense of how to work the controls to get what you want (a win).

Challenge your other 20-, 30- or 40-something friends to games. Theyre more at your level and youll get a little ego boost every time you play (because youll obviously be better than them at this).

Graduate to playing games against other people online (preferably people you dont know, so theres no real humiliation involved if you somehow manage to lose in the first 5 minutes.)

The process sounds easy enough I know. But there are some games that will just get under you skin until you beat them to a pulp! (Yes I AM a little on the competitive side.) And as long as you dont do something stupid, like lose your job or your house youll come out the other side with better strategy skills, better critical thinking skills and able to think faster on your feet.

Go ahead give it a shot. (Just dont challenge your younger brother or your kids to a duel until you know you can take them. The humiliation would just be too much to bear. Trust me.)

Since her initial humiliation by her 17-year-old brother, she has not only learned to play games at http://UGOPlayer.com without one but has started ruling the xbox when he comes to visit.

Promotional Golf Umbrellas Are A Powerful Choice

Many a husband has often said that Dont you know - it never rains on a golf course! Despite this, golf umbrellas are one of the most favorite promotional items used by companies today.

Whether your customer is a golfer or not, they will always appreciate a good quality golf umbrella as a gift. The use of promotional umbrellas are not only limited to the golf course. Of course, the favorite golf umbrella will be permanently kept in the golf bags, but invariably one will find a number of other promotional golf umbrellas in the umbrella stand in the entrance hall of most homes. They are firm favorites as they are normally sturdy, large and look smart. Well-made golf umbrellas should last for years. Golf umbrellas are generally larger than normal umbrellas, with strong frames made from either carbon steel or fiberglass, with a wooden handle. They can be relied on to withstand bad weather and protect you well from the rain. They are a firm favorite with people, even if they are not golfers.

On the golf course, you company logo is exposed to any number of influential decision makers, buyers, and the public in general. Private golf courses are frequented by people who notice these things, and your company message will make its mark. Increasingly, those golf courses open to the general public are ideal venues to get your message across. Your product or brand will be exposed to larger numbers of both consumers and buyers, and your advertising will be hard at work. In particular, sponsored golf days are a wonderful way of getting your company or product out there in the public eye. promotional umbrellas are very well displayed at these events.

And remember that your promotional golf umbrella wont only be seen on the golf course. Attend any school rugby or soccer match in winter, and youll see any number of golf umbrellas being used by parents. Parents watching water polo matches in the heat of the summer will be using your promotional golf umbrella to shade them from the sun. Of course, many are used as umbrellas for everyday use, to protect from winter rain and wind.

The design of the golf umbrellas is important there is a certain look that most of them tend to follow. The fabric panels are either all one color, or one often has two alternating colors, often white and one other color. The company logo will normally be printed on only one or two panels. Understated, but effective advertising. Your clients dont want to feel that they are a walking advertisement for your company. You are offering them an item that has a real use, and at the same time you are getting your company name and logo out there in the public eye. The use of promotional golf umbrellas is a tried and tested method of marketing, and remains ever-popular with both advertisers and those who receive them as gifts.
